Building multi-step sequences with delays
Add follow-up steps with wait times to a template.
A sequence is a template with more than one step: an initial email plus timed follow-ups that go out only if the contact has not replied. Follow-ups are where most replies actually come from, and PitchBrand handles the timing for you so you never have to remember who to chase.
Add a follow-up step
- Open a template from Templates. Your first step is always Step 1 · Initial Email.
- Click Add Follow-up below the steps. A new card appears, labelled Follow-up 1, Follow-up 2, and so on.
- Write the subject and body for the follow-up, just like the initial email.
- You can build up to four steps in one sequence. To remove a follow-up, click the trash icon on its card (the initial email can't be removed).
Set the wait between steps
Between each step is a connector that reads if no reply after with a dropdown. Click it to choose how long PitchBrand waits before sending that follow-up. Presets are 2 days, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 10 days, and 14 days. New follow-ups default to a 5-day wait.
Need something specific? Choose Custom..., type any number of days from 1 to 90, and click Set. The delay only counts down while the contact stays silent — as soon as someone replies, their follow-ups stop.
Keep follow-ups in the same thread
To keep your follow-ups threaded under the original email in Gmail, leave the follow-up subject empty — PitchBrand will automatically thread it as re: original subject. If you type a different subject, you may see a warning that a different subject can break email threading.
Tip: Hit Preview to read the whole sequence end to end before you put it to work. For the full template basics, see creating reusable templates.
