Email verification status, explained

What a verified email means, and how to tell which contacts have one.

PitchBrand only shows you emails it has actually checked. This keeps your bounce rate low and protects your sending reputation. Here is what the labels you see across the app actually mean.

Verified vs. not verified

Every contact we surface has been run through our verification checks. When a contact has a confirmed, deliverable email, it appears with an Unlock button. When a named contact does not have an email that passes those checks, the row reads No verified email and there is nothing to unlock.

On the Email Finder, and inside a brand's Contacts tab, you may also see messages like "No verified contacts" or "No verified contacts found." That means we could not find anyone at that company who met our verification standard — not that the company has no staff. Provider data updates over time, so it can be worth checking back later.

Locked vs. unlocked

A verified email starts locked. You see the contact's name and title, but the email itself is hidden behind an Unlock button. Unlocking reveals the address and costs 1 credit.

Once a contact is unlocked, the email shows in full with a copy button next to it. In the Email Finder, an unlocked row also shows a small green checkmark in place of its checkbox. Unlocking is permanent — you won't be charged again for the same contact.

Why some brands show fewer contacts

Because we verify everything, a brand may list only a couple of contacts even if it has a large team. We would rather show you a handful of reliable, deliverable addresses than a long list that bounces. When a brand has no verified individuals, you can still reach out using the Company emails (press@, partnerships@, hello@, and similar) shown on the profile.
