Sending a one-off email with Compose

Write and send a single email outside your automated outreach.

Not every email belongs in your automated outreach. When you just want to fire off a single message — a quick reply to a warm lead, a one-time intro, a follow-up to someone you met — use Compose. It opens a focused email window with PennyPenny, your writing assistant, right alongside it.

Opening Compose

Goal: write and send one email outside your queue.

  1. Click the floating feather button (the New email button) near the bottom-left of the screen.
  2. A compose window opens. In the To field, type the recipient's email address.
  3. Add a Subject — or click the lightning-bolt button for quick subject suggestions.
  4. Write your email in the body. Need a hand? Ask PennyPenny in the side panel to draft or refine it, then insert her suggestion.
  5. Attach files if needed (up to 5), then click Send.

The email sends from your connected mailbox, and the recipient is automatically saved as a contact so you can find them again later.

Composing to an existing contact

You can also open Compose for someone already in your Contacts — their name and email are filled in for you, and PennyPenny has their context. Once you send, that contact is marked as contacted automatically.

If no mailbox is connected

Compose needs a connected email account to send directly. Without one, clicking Send opens your default email client instead, and you'll see a prompt to connect in Settings. See connecting or reconnecting your email.

Tip: Compose is for one-offs — for repeatable, scheduled sequences with follow-ups, use the Outreach queue instead.
