Contact statuses, explained
What each pipeline stage means and when to move a contact forward.
Every contact in PitchBrand carries a status — a simple label for where they sit in your pipeline. Statuses keep your list organized, power the columns in the Board view, and let you filter down to exactly the group you want to work next.
The five statuses
- Not Contacted — saved but not yet reached out to. New contacts start here.
- Contacted — you've sent them an email but haven't heard back yet.
- Responded — they've replied to your outreach.
- Qualified — a promising lead worth pursuing further.
- Not Interested — a clear no, kept on the list for your records.
Each status has its own color, used consistently on the status dropdown, the filter, and the Board columns so you can recognize them at a glance.
How statuses change
Statuses move in a couple of ways. You can set them yourself — from the Status dropdown on any contact row, from the status field in the contact detail drawer, or by dragging a card between columns in Board view. They also update automatically as you work: sending an email from PitchBrand moves a contact to Contacted, and that change is reflected in your Contacts view without a second click.
Filtering by status
Use the Status dropdown above your contacts to show just one status at a time, or All Statuses to see everyone. This pairs nicely with tags and search — for instance, filter to Responded to focus on people who are actively engaging. To change statuses for many contacts at once, see Tags and bulk actions on contacts.
Tip: contact status (where someone sits in your pipeline) is separate from a reply's sentiment in the Inbox — one tracks the relationship, the other reads a single message.
